POPAI Names ‘Best of the West’ at West Coast POP Show

POPAI’s West Coast POP show is the only event that is completely dedicated to honoring point-of-purchase (POP) work on the West Coast. Brands, retailers, and POP manufacturers gather to network, discuss industry trends, and view and evaluate the industry’s latest projects. The 2014 event was held on September 18th at Noor in downtown Pasadena.

As part of the show, POPAI (Point of Purchase Advertising International) hosted a competition, showcase, and awards ceremony featuring the most creative and dynamic POP and packaging executions sold, produced, and marketed on the West Coast. Entrants competed in 12 different categories encompassing both temporary and permanent displays.

InnoMark won gold in the “Non-Dimensional Signage” category and “Best Use of Photography” for its work on the Sephora “Skinstant” window campaign. The winning project combined a series of banners and clings to create an attractive window display with a layered effect. All banners were produced on foil mounted to PETG. They were digitally printed with an opaque underwhite and a CMYK image on top.

InnoMark also received silver in the “Temporary Floorstand” category and bronze in the “Dimensional Signage” category. These two awards honored the Sierra Nevada “Camp Across America” pole topper and the Spirit Halloween “Disney” header.

The event also featured panel discussions and Q&A sessions with prominent industry experts. This year’s theme was “Creativity and Innovation”. Speakers included Susan Bonds, Co-Founder and CEO of 42 Entertainment, and NormaLynn Cutler, Owner of Cutler Enterprises.

The show also presented an opportunity to showcase InnoMark’s new West Coast operation. The InnoMark West Coast office, which is within walking distance of the venue, hosted an open house for show attendees. Guests were invited to tour the office, view work samples, and enjoy refreshments with the InnoMark team.

Overall, the West Coast POP Show was a valuable experience for brands, retailers, and manufacturers.
